How can we help?
Real answers below — and a real human at the other end of the email. No account
means nothing to look up on our end, so a description and a screenshot go a long way.
Does Yoho connect to my bank or card accounts?
No — and it never will. You describe your cards by picking them from a
list ("Cobalt", "Triangle World Elite", …). There are no logins, no credentials, and Yoho
never asks for a card number.
How does Yoho know each card’s earn rates?
We maintain a curated database of Canadian card products — multipliers,
caps and category rules — and update it when issuers change their terms. Every card’s
page shows when its facts were last verified, and corrections ship to everyone without an
app update. Spot something off? Email data@getyoho.ca .
What does “7.5% back” actually mean?
It’s the earn rate times what the points are worth toward your
goal. Example: Cobalt earns 5× Membership Rewards on eats & drinks, and the
“Aeroplan flights” goal values those points at Aeroplan’s 1.5¢/pt —
5 × 1.5¢ = 7.5%. Change the goal and the math follows.
A store coded differently than Yoho said. How do I fix it?
Open the place in Explore and report what your card actually earned —
you pick from fixed options, nothing free-text. Reports carry no name or email, are public,
and are human-reviewed — usually within a few days — before they change anyone’s
answers; enough matching reports update the answer for everyone. Submitting needs an
iCloud sign-in: it only gives Yoho a pseudonymous, app-scoped ID used to stop spam —
no name or email; see the privacy policy for what that means.
Why does an answer differ from what I actually earned?
Rates change and stores code strangely. Check the card’s
“last verified” date, then report it — that’s the bug class we care most
about, and you’ll fix it for everyone. The app’s Report a data problem
button pre-fills the details, or email data@getyoho.ca .
Does it work offline?
The answer does — your wallet and all the math live on your iPhone, so
it works in a no-signal basement grocery store. Searching for new places is the exception:
that queries Apple Maps (your query and map region go to Apple, never to Yoho) and needs a
connection. Community confidence for Places also refreshes next time you’re online.
How do I move to a new iPhone?
Nothing to do — your wallet syncs through your private iCloud. Sign in
with the same Apple Account on the new phone and it’s all there.
How do I delete my data?
Settings → iCloud & sync → Erase all my data wipes the
wallet from your device and from your private iCloud in one step — or just delete the app.
Merchant reports you’ve submitted are public contributions; email
hello@getyoho.ca to have one removed. Details in the
privacy policy .
iOS said Yoho used my location while the app was closed. Why?
That’s your Home Screen widget refreshing — it takes the same brief
one-shot reading the app does, roughly every half hour, to keep the nearby answer current.
Nothing is stored and nothing is sent to us; details in the
privacy policy ’s Location section.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. Yoho leans on iPhone-only surfaces — widgets, StandBy, App
Intents — so we’re staying focused there for now.
